Don't stay inside all day.

Stuck at home.
I've just placed my phone down on my desk after a long scroll, It’s 2pm
It occurs to me i’ve done absolutely nothing with my day,
Then out seemingly nowhere...a storm of thoughts.
Why havn't you done anything yet
You're lazy
Go get something to eat.
There must be something I want to do with my day,
But nothing comes to mind,
I’m bored.
It’s grey and miserable outside (classic February in England)
I wanted to put on a comfort film, get in bed and rot the day away.
Another thought - Why don’t I wanna do anything?
The first thing that came to mind is "I don’t feel like it"
What a pathetic excuse.
You usually don’t feel like going to work, but you still gotta do it.
I begrudgingly packed my camera bag, get in the car and leave for the festival of light in Bristol.
I'm walking the hills of Bristol.
Still wondering why I left the house, when I arrive at the first art installation,
I take out my camera and pull the shutter.
What a terrible photo.

I take another photo, it's also terrible,
I take one more.
Still not great...but this reflection of light in the concrete is interesting...
That reflection sparked just enough joy, to prompt an idea.

Idea: To photograph the colourful Bristol light festival in a moody black and white -
I forgot how fun reflections in the rain can be.

It was grey and raining sideways,
But despite this I was having a great time. So much fun in fact, that I got sidetracked and photographed a bunch of non festival stuff too.

I got through a couple installations
Then I saw the cat…
And the amount of people waiting to see it...

I suddenly noticed how exhausted my legs were from walking up and down the city hills for the past 4 hours straight.
I took a photo of a lonely bike.
And began the long walk back to my car.

When I retuned home and started devouring some instant noodles,
I couldn’t help but notice,
My mind was still… racing
But it wasn’t with thoughts of comparison or how i’m a unless potato of a human.
Instead it was creative thoughts & ideas
Filled with curiosity and wonder.
Most people think you create things when you’re inspired,
But in truth… If often the opposite.
You don’t feel like it.
You do it it anyway.
Then you get inspired.
